- What things can affect the readings on a CareTemp Thermometer?
If the eyebrow area is covered with hair, sweat or dirt, clean the area and wait 10 minutes before taking a measurement. Refer to the Directions for Use manual for a more complete list. - How do I take a patient measurement with the CareTemp thermometer?
Press and release Measure button to power on the thermometer. Position the thermometer between 4 and 6 cm from the center of the patient’s forehead, and aim between the eyebrows. Press and release Measure button a second time to start reading. Slowly move the device toward or further away from the forehead. The arrow on the display flashes until the correct distance is achieved. When the correct distance is reached the LED bar will illuminate, three beeps sound, and the measurement is displayed. - How do I change the scale setting on my Welch Allyn CareTemp from Fahrenheit to Celsius?
When the device is off, press and hold both the Mem and C/F buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to change the default scale. Three beeps sound to confirm the setting is changed.
